What No One Tells You About Construction and Contractors

Welcome to my blog. My name is Belinda, and I recently built a house from the ground-up with my husband. Through building, we worked with a range of construction crews, contractors and specialists. I learned a lot along the way, but the experience would have been easier if I had known about some things up front. In this blog, I am going to help others who are starting the process of constructing a new home. In this blog, I plan to share all the things no one ever tells you about construction and contractors. I'm writing this from my custom home, and I couldn't be happier. Trust me, the whole process is worth it. Thanks for reading and happy building!

Why You Should Consider Concrete Roofing Tiles

If you are currently looking into restoring your roof with new materials, you have many to choose from. Tiles are a great choice for the roof, and they come in a variety of different materials, including concrete. Here are some reasons to choose concrete roofing tiles.

They Are Safe For Coastal Regions

One great reason to choose concrete tiles for your roof is if you live in a coastal area. When you live near the ocean, there is a lot of extra salt in the air. If that salt is lifted up to your roof due to the wind, it can cause damage and deterioration of some roofing materials. However, concrete is very durable and can handle a lot of different climates and weather conditions, including salt. The salt will make no difference with your roofing tiles, allowing the concrete to withstand the coastal climate.

There Are Many Colours to Choose From

If you are hoping to have a new roof that is stylish as well as durable, concrete tile is an excellent option. Many people assume concrete means you have boring, beige-coloured roofing tiles, but this couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, concrete comes in many textures, colours, and patterns. You can also get it custom-made to look however you like, from having intricate patterns and waves on the tiles, to going with solid colours of your choosing. They can look like slate by having them dyed a dark gray colour, or you can go with a more natural appearance if you live on the coast. There are a lot of design opportunities available with concrete tile.

The Tiles Are Budget-Friendly

You will also find that concrete roofing tiles are better for your budget. They allow you to have a beautiful, fire-resistant, durable roof without spending too much. You get many of the same benefits with tiles made of clay or slate, but those tend to be considerably more expensive than the tiles made of concrete. Just keep in mind that installation for concrete tiles might be a little higher than some of the other roofing materials since reinforcements is sometimes needed for the heavy material.

They Are Hard and Durable

You will get excellent durability and long-lasting power when you choose concrete roofing tiles. Concrete can withstand a lot of different climate changes, weather conditions, and even natural disasters. If you live somewhere that is prone to heavy winds and rain, snowstorms, extreme heat, or brush fires, you won't have to worry about the damage when your roof has concrete tiles.
